This document is designed to support you in gathering the skills and knowledge required from starting your career as a registered Paediatric Nurse. You
will then gain Level 1 Paediatric Critical Care skills which are required for all inpatient paediatric services. Skills in caring for Babies, Children and young
people requiring Long term Ventilation can be progressed, either for the purpose of stabilisation or for the purpose of step down and step-up care. You
will have the option to expand your Paediatric Critical Care skills and knowledge to complete those mapped to Level 2 PCC. This may be used as
assessment criteria towards a Level 2 course or otherwise completed alongside a course.
